SUBJECT: FUNDING FOR EPICENTER AGENDA ITEM - SPECIAL MEETING OF JUNE 27, 1985 Attached is a request from EpiCenter presented for your consideration for funding in the amount of $6,000. The funds would be used to supplement their lease costs for the facilities they presently occupy. EpiCenter provides a valuable service to this community and, if forced to move due to lack of funding, the services they provide would be interrupted and could prove detrimental to the community. Mr. Mike Aemmer, Executive Director of EpiCenter, will be available at the Council meeting to brief the Council on their needs and to answer any questions you may have concerning their request. Idaho Rd. Apache Junction, Az 85220 Dear Council Members, Due to a rather substantial reduction within our Fiscal Year 1985-86 budget in the area of operational expense with the Department of Economic Security, Epicenter will no longer be able to afford our current rent cost. Our bud- geted rent allocation as of July 1 , 1985 is dropping from $9,600 per year (or $800 per month) to $4,664 per year (or $388.66 per month) . Epicenter is requesting the City Council 's help to supplement our current rent cost for Fiscal Year 85/86. Your assistance will enable us to continue providing valuable and viable services in our community from an excellent location. For further clarification, I remain available at your earliest convenience. Sincerely, r Oke/i(C4Q *tkeAvty.teR7.____ Michael C.
