Regular Meeting
April 1, 1986
A regular meeting of the Apache Junction Library Board of
Trustees was held April 1 , 1986 at 6 : 00 p.m. at the Apache Junction
Library pursuant to notice as prescribed by law.

Present Absent

Staff : Pamela Loui, Librarian
1 . Acceptance of Agenda: A motion was made to accept
the agenda and then it was
seconded. The motion passed
unanimously
2. Acceptance of Minutes : Motion to accept minutes of
Dec . 3 meeting was made by
Ruby Forsberg and seconded by
Hazel Eldridge. Passed
unanimously.
3 . Librarian Report: Pamela Loui, Librarian,
reported a total circulation
•� of 6681 for the past month,
compared to 6134 for last
month and 5839 for one year
ago.
4. Committee Reports : There were no committee
reports made.
5. Old Business :
A. Status report on new library
building: It was reported that the rest
rooms would be tiled, even
though they weren' t on
original plan.
6. New Business:
A. Review of bids received for
library furniture and equipment: It was explained to the
Board by Pam Loui that the
reason the lowest bid for the
library furniture was not
taken was that it did not meet
AIMI the specifications prescribed.
B. Review of proposed budget: A motion was made by Ruby
Forsberg and seconded to accept
the Fiscal year 1986/1987
budget as submitted. Passed
unanimously.

C. Hours for new library: A motion was made by Jan
Hiller and seconded by Barbara
Gordon to accept the new hours
suggested in the Librarian' s
IONA Report for Fiscal Year
1986/1987 . Passed unanimously.
D. Review of talent bank
applications : A motion was made by Barbara
Gordon and seconded by Hazel
Eldridge to recommend Catherine
Sterr. Passed 6 in favor and
1 abstaining.
E. Discussion on problem of
book damages and policies
relating to them: It was suggested that Pam find
out from some of the other
libraries in the area how they
were dealing with the problems
mentioned in E. and F .
F. Proposed revision of fine
schedule to include a 25 per
day charge for Apache Junction
books turned in at other
libraries :

9. Adjournment: A motion was made by Hazel
Eldridge and seconded for the
meeting to adjourn. Passed
unanimously.
