Regular Meeting
August 5, 1986
A regular meeting of the Apache Junction Library Board of Trustees
was held August 5, 1986 at 6:00 p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant
to notice as prescribed by law.
Roll Call --
Present Absent
Eldridge, Hazel Forsberg, Ruby
Gordon, Barbara
Navarre, Linda
Sterr, Catharine
Staff: Pamela Loui, Librarian
Others present: Lee Gordon and Jean Perkins
1. Acceptance of Agenda: Motion was made by Linda
Navarre and seconded by
Barbara Gordon to accept
the agenda. Passed
unanimously.
2. Acceptance of Minutes for June 27
Special Meeting: Motion was made by Linda
Navarre and seconded by
Barbara Gordon to accept
the minutes. Passed
unanimously.
3. Acceptance of Minutes for July 1
Regular Meeting: Motion was made by Linda
Navarre and seconded by
Barbara Gordon to accept
the minutes. Passed
unanimously.
4. Old Business:
A. Policy for library meeting room
use: A tentative library meeting
room use policy was presented
by the committee. Since study
time is necessary for proper
action, it was tabled until the
September meeting.
5. New Business.
A. Introduction of new Board member: Linda Navarre was introduced
as the new Library Board
member.
6. Call to the Public: Jean Perkins mentioned how
impressed a friend of hers was
on her first visit to the new
facilities. She also reported
that a check was to be presented
at the City Council meeting this
same evening for the purchase
of volumes of the Oxford Diction-
ary.

7. Librarian Report. Pam Loui, Librarian, presented
her usual complete report.
Highlights of the opening of
the new facility showed the
/� largest daily circulation on
July 14, the first day open,
of 604. Three-hundred-fifty-
1 1 five new readers registered
during the month. Approximately
200 people attended the grand

opening on July 12, 1986.
Linda Navarre moved, seconded
by Barbara Gordon, to accept
the report. Unanimously
passed.
8. Adjournment: Linda Navarre moved, seconded
by Barbara Gordon, that the
meeting be adjourned. Passed
unanimously.
