LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES

A regular meeting of the Apache Junction Library Board of Trustees
was held September 2, 1986 at 6:00 p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant
to notice as prescribed by law.
Roll Call --

Staff: Pamela Loui, Librarian
Others present: Lee Gordon
1. Acceptance of Agenda: Motion was made by Barbara
Gordon and seconded by Linda
Navarre to accept the agenda.
Passed unanimously.
2. Acceptance of Minutes: Motion was made by Terry
Spence and seconded by Linda
Navarre to accept the minutes
of the August 5, 1986 regular
meeting. Passed unanimously.
3. Librarian Report: Pamela Loui reported that the
.... program at the library for the
Little Rec'rs (pre-school) will
start on September 22, 1986.
This is a fine way to introduce
small children to books and to
the library. There will be a
greater contribution this year
to the program from the library.
New readers registered during
August: 325.
214 titles and 27 volumes were
added to the collection.
Large donations were received
from the Soroptomists and the
Oxford Dictionary Committee.
4. Old Business:
A. Policy on Library Program Room use. Changes on the Tentative Library
Program Room use policy included
number 7, changing "Library
Advisory Board" to read "Library
Board of Trustees" for
consistency. Discussion was held
...\ on numbers 14 and 15 concerning
current liability insurance
provided by users. Motion made
by Barbara Gordon and seconded
by Linda Navarre to table
acceptance of policy for one
month. Passed unanimously by
roll call vote.
5. New Business:
A. Revision of annual report: Inventory showed nearly 3,000
titles (including city-owned and
total in library) to be missing.
Motion to correct annual report
was made by Barbara Gordon and
seconded by Linda Navarre and
unanimously approved by roll call
vote.

B. Talent bank application(s) One application was submitted and
tabled until the October meeting.
Motion made by Barbara Gordon and
seconded by Terry Spence. Passed
unanimously.
C. Review of minutes on file at
the library: Minutes from the October 2, 1984
meeting are missing. Anyone
having a copy is asked to contact
the library.
D. Welcome to new member: Terry Spence was introduced and
welcomed as a new Library Board
of Trustees Member.
6. Call to the Public: No response.
7. Requests for future agenda items: 1. Confirmation of expiration dates
for current board members
2. Talent bank applications
3. Security system for library
4. Review of duties of Library
Board of Trustees Members.
8. Adjournment: Motion to adjourn was made by
Terry Spence and seconded by
Barbara Gordon. Passed unanimously
