Idaho Road Regular Meeting December 2, 1986 A regular meeting of the Apache Junction Library Board of Trustees was held December 2, 1986 at 6:00 p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as prescribed by law. Roll Call -- Present Absent Class-Erickson, Cheryl Forsberg, Ruby Eldridge, Hazel Gordon, Barbara Navarre, Linda Spence, Terry Sterr, Catharine Staff• Pamela Loui, Librarian Others present: None 1. Acceptance of Agenda: Motion to accept agenda made by Barbara Gordon and seconded by Terry Spence. Motion passed. 2. Acceptance of Minutes for November 4, 1986 Regular meeting: Motion made by Linda Navarre, seconded by Cheryl Class- Erickson. Motion carried. 3. Librarian report: Circulation for the month was 7261 books compared to 4703 one year ago. Average daily circulation was 336, ranging from 129 on the lightest day to 529 on the busiest day. New readers registered totaled 331. Patron's visits totaled 2507. There were 25 story hours, plus six other presentations. 4. Old Business: A. Review and update on library policies: Added to policies: Shirts and shoes are required of patrons. Motion was made by Linda Navarre to accept policies as presented and seconded by Barbara Gordon. Passed unanimously. B. Status report on Superstition Mountain Historical Museum display. No change. The group awaits a quote for fire insurance for a $20,000.00 display. AMM 5. New Business: A. Introduction of new Adult Services/ Young Adult Services Librarian: Pam Loui, Librarian, introduced Mr. Spencer Paden, the new librarian for adult and young adult services. He then gave the Board a summary of his background, education, and experience. He will also be working with the services for the homebound and the senior citizens. Purchase of books in lieu of flowers or other gifts or honorariums: These books will be in memory of or honor former and/or current members of the Board from the Mill IL time that the City took over the library in 1982. Motion was made by Barbara Gordon and seconded by Cheryl Class-Erickson. Motion carried unanimously. 6. Call to the Public: None present 7. Requests for future agenda items: None 8.
