Idaho Road Regular Meeting July 7, 1987 A regular meeting of the Apache Junction Library Board of Trustees was held July 7, 1987 at 6:00 p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as prescribed by law. Roll Call -- Present Absent Gordon, Barbara Forsberg, Ruby Navarre, Linda Benson, Gladys Spence, Terry Carlson-Foat, Virginia Staff: Pamela Loui, Librarian 1. Acceptance of Agenda: Motion was made by Terry Spence and seconded by Virginia Carlson-Foat to accept the agenda. 2. Acceptance of Minutes for June 2, A.. 1987 Regular Meeting and June 26, 1987 Special Meeting: Motion made by Terry Spence and seconded by Linda Navarre to accept the minutes. 3. Librarian Report. Librarian's report showed an increase in circulation over last month and a doubled circulation over a year ago. There were 277 new readers registered. Four story hours and one seminar were held. One young adult movie was shown. There was one tour conducted with 15 people in attendance. A quarterly work plan and a monthly narrative report was submitted to the City Manager for eventual distribution to the City Council. A birthday party for the Library will be held July 14, 1987 beginning at 9:00 a.m. with the Mayor cutting the cake at 10:00 a.m. ABCO agreed to provide the cake. Two movies will be /WM shown. Dumbo in the daytime and Mary Poppins in the evening. 4. Old Business: a. Report on legislation absolving Board members of liability: Tabled until next meeting. Request by Apache Junction Woman's Club to place "Histories" in library and to have Board review the Club's proposed policy for use and disposal: Tabled until next meeting. b. Election of officers for 1987/88 year: Postponed until there is a full Board. c. Review of talent bank applications submitted for Library Board vacancy: Linda Navarre recommended we meet potential members. The question was raised concerning the possibility of an associate (or floating) Board member. Pam will check with the City about this and about having a waiting list for Board members. 6.
