Regular Meeting
October 6, 1987
A regular meeting of the Apache Junction Library Board of Trustees was
held October 6, 1987 at 6:00 p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice
as prescribed by law.

Staff: Pamela Loui, Librarian
1. Acceptance of Agenda: Motion was made by Ruby Forsberg and
...lb seconded by Terry Spence to accept
the agenda.
2. Acceptance of Minutes for
August 4, 1987 Regular Meeting: Motion was made by Terry Spence and
seconded by Virginia Carlson-Foat to
accept the minutes.
3. Librarian Report: Librarian's report showed the total
circulation for August was 6,882 and
6,221 for September. New readers
registered in August was 182 and 242
in September. There were six movies
shown in August with 367 people in
attendance. Summer reading program
party for 125 children.
One storyhour with 15 in attendance
was held in September, also two tours
consisting of 120 people. There were
three movies shown with 28 people
attending.
Apache Junction Library received an
award in Tucson for being the most
energy efficient.

5. New Business:
a. Discussion on closing the library
on Saturdays preceding or following
a legal holiday: Motion to accept the policy regarding
the library being closed on Saturdays
on holiday weekends was made by Terry
Spence and seconded by Ruby Forsberg.
Motion carried unanimously.
b. Policy on patron use of
library's telephone:
c. Policy on public use of
A—V equipment: After discussion, the two policies
were voted on together. Ruby Forsberg
moved the policies be accepted and
James Lovett seconded. Passed
unanimously.
d. Receipt of letter from
..IE\ Apache Junction Woman's
Club: A note from Woman's Club President
Viola Maus thanking the Board for
accepting the Woman's Club Histories,
was read by President Barbara Gordon.
6. Call to the Public: None present
7. Requests for future agenda items: Procedures for handling lost books.
Elections at the November meeting.
8. Adjournment: Meeting adjourned at 6:29 p.m.
