Idaho Road Regular Meeting March 1, 1988 A regular meeting of the Apache Junction Library Board of Trustees was held March 1, 1988 at 6:00 p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as prescribed by law. Roll Call -- Present Absent Benson, Gladys Carlson-Foat, Virginia Gordon, Barbara Forsberg, Ruby Lovett, James Navarre, Linda Spence, Terry Staff: Pamela Loui, Librarian 1. Acceptance of Agenda: Motion was made by James Lovett and seconded by Terry Spence to accept the agenda. Motion passed. 2. Acceptance of Minutes for AMft February 2, 1988 Regular Meeting: Motion made by Gladys Benson and seconded by Terry Spence to accept the minutes. Motion carried. 3. Acceptance of Minutes for February 25, 1988 Special Meeting: Motion made by Terry Spence and seconded by James Lovett to accept the minutes. Motion carried. 4. Librarian Report: Librarian's report showed increases in circulation over last month and more than double the circulation of a year ago. We were given a report on February statistics and activities. 5. Old Business: A. Status of ordinance for recovery of books and/or monies resulting from overdues: Reviewed ordinance no. 641. Library Director pointed out staff concerns. Several Board members expressed their areas of concern. The Library Director will pass these on to the City Manager. B. Report on terms which expire 6/30/88: Ruby Forsberg and James Lovett's City of Apache Junction Library Board of Trustees Regular Meeting "" March 1, 1988 Page 2 terms expire 6/30/88. James stated his desire to be considered for re—appointment. Ruby Forsberg was not present. 6. New Business• A. Report on review panel decision on Texasville complaint. The committee, made up of Terry Spence, Pam Loui & Elizabeth Burks, decided unanimously to retain the book in the collection. The author is a Pulitzer Prize winner, the book was favorably reviewed and it was on the best seller list 13 weeks. B. Report on investigation of complaint on water fountains: Upon checking with John McCarthy from Operations, it was learned that the fountains are cooled but the pipe from the cooler to the fountain is 8 ft. long. The water must run a little to get cool water. 7. Call to the Public: None present 8. Requests for future agenda items: None made 9.
