5. New Business.
a. Preliminary budget for
1989/1990: Projected needs were discussed. We need
shelving desperately. An additional
Library Clerk is needed. The book budget
and the budget for other operating supplies
should be increased. There have been
requests for the old classic movies.
b. Report on LSCA Grant
proposals: Project CAIR was explained. It includes
micro-filming the Superstition Mountain
History Collection, developing a resource
center for local speakers and artisans
willing to share their talents in the
community, and establishing a fugitive
file of hard to locate questions and
their answers.
A second project would be a link-up with
the Gilbert-Chandler Community College.
AMI. We would need a Mesa line installed to
dial up to their program.
A motion was made by Kathy Little and
seconded by James Lovett to approve
the two proposals for submission to
LSCA.
c. MidCon Free Pre-
Conference for all
library trustees: The meeting is April 13, 1989. All
were encouraged to attend.

items: Parking lot update.
