Regular Meeting
— November 7, 1989
A regular meeting of the Apache Junction Library Board of Trustees
was held November 7, 1989 at 6:00 p.m. at the Apache Junction Library
pursuant to notice as prescribed by law.

Staff: Pamela Loui, Library Director
1. Acceptance of Agenda: Motion to accept the agenda was
made by Gladys Benson. The motion
was seconded by Randy Palmer.
2. Acceptance of Minutes for
October 3, 1989 Regular
Meeting: Motion to accept the Minutes of
`... the October 3, 1989 meeting was
made by Randy Palmer. The motion
was seconded by Barbara Gordon.
3. Librarian Report: The librarian reviewed the October
statistics and went over future
programs.
4. Old Business:
a. Discussion on the Library
Trustees Handbook: The first chapter was read and
discussed.
b. Discussion on possibility
of using a collection agency
to retrieve overdue materials: After discussion, a motion was made
that at first there would be a letter
from the Library Director sent by
registered mail, then if that did not
work, a registered letter from the
City Attorney and finally court
proceeding until July, 1990. For
the next fiscal year, the use of a
.... collection agency will be considered.
Recommended by the Board. The motion
was made by James Lovett and seconded
by Gladys Benson. A vote was taken
and it was unanimously in favor.

5. New Business:
a. Discussion on charging fee
to patrons who request items
and have no phone: A motion was made to charge $.25
to cover mailing by James Lovett
and seconded by Randy Palmer. A
roll call vote was taken and it
was unanimously in favor.
6. Call to the Public. None present
7. Requests for future agenda
items: Continued discussion on talent
bank.
8. Adjournment: James Lovett made a motion to
adjourn and Randy Palmer seconded
this motion.
