Regular Meeting
May 1, 1990
A regular meeting of the Apache Junction Library Board of Trustees
was held May 1, 1990 at 6:00 p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to
notice as prescribed by law.

1. Acceptance of Agenda: Motion was made by Barbara Gordon and
seconded by Gladys Benson to accept the
agenda.
2. Acceptance of Minutes for
April 3, 1990 Regular
..... Meeting: Motion was made by Barbara Gordon and
seconded by Gladys Benson to accept the
Minutes.
3. Librarian Report: Librarian discussed reference inquiries
and response.
4. Old Business:
a. Election of Secretary. Postponed
b. Review of Open Meeting Law: There was discussion on having Kathy
Connelly, City Clerk, give a presentation.
A must to read. Pam will check on this
for a July meeting.
c. Review of Bylaws of Library
Board: The Bylaws were reviewed, but will be
reviewed again when new Board members
start.
d. Update on budget: Final outcome to be determined by City
Council. Pam will keep Board advised
of the process.
e. Report on deposit for Inter-
library Loan: Decided not to recommend a refundable
deposit for at least 6 months. Current
procedure will help identify overdue
problems.

5. New Business:
a. Discussion on expiring terms
of Library Board members: Members wishing not to be considered for
reappointment when existing terms expire:
Barbara Gordon
Gladys Benson
Virginia Carlson-Foat
b. Report on Trustees/Friends
State sponsored workshop: Reviewed some highlights of the presentation
given by Kare Anderson, an award winning
negotiation specialist.
6. Call to the Public: None present
7. Requests for future agenda
items: Review talent bank applications.
Update on budget.
For July meeting an Open Meeting Law review.
8. Adjournment: Meeting adjourned at 6:37 p.m.
