MEETING OF MARCH 10, 2008
The regular meeting of the Board of Adjustment and Appeals of the
City of Apache Junction, Arizona, was held on March 10 , 2008, in
the City Council Chambers located at 300 E. Superstition
Boulevard, pursuant to the notice required by law.
CALL TO ORDER
Chairwoman Gardner called the meeting to order at 7 : 00 p .m.
ROLL CALL
Board Members Present : Chairwoman Mari Gardner
Vice Chairwoman Sandra Spelman/late
Board Member Carol Urich
Board Member Jane Jones-Denney
Board Member Samuel Condon
Board Member John Gordon/late
Board Members Absent : Board Member Daniel Austin
Staff Present : Senior Planner Rudy Esquivias
ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN AND VICE CHAIRMAN
Chairwoman Gardner asked for nominations for Chairman of the
Board of Adjustment and Appeals .
Board Member Urich nominated Jane Jones-Denney for Chairman. The
nomination was seconded by Board Member Condon.
Chairwoman Gardner asked if there were any further nominations
for Chairman . Hearing none, she closed the nominations and
called for a vote .
AYES: Gardner, Urich, Jones-Denney, Condon
NOES: None
ABSTAIN: None
ABSENT: Austin, Spelman, Gordon

Senior Planner Rudy Esquivias stated Board Member Jane
Jones-Denney has been voted in as the new Chairwoman for the
Board of Adjustment and Appeals, and she will become the Chair
once Chairwoman Gardner vacates her seat at the end of April .
Chairwoman Gardner handed the newly elected Chairwoman Jane
Jones-Denney the gavel and asked her to take over the meeting.
Chairwoman Jones-Denney took the gavel and asked for nominations
for Vice Chairman .
Board Member Gardner nominated Sandra Spelman for Vice Chairman.
Board Member Urich seconded the nomination.
Chairwoman Jones-Denney asked for any further nominations for
Vice Chairman . Hearing none, she closed the nominations and
asked for a vote .
AYES: Urich, Jones-Denney, Gardner, Spelman, Gordon, Condon
NOES: None
ABSTAIN: None
ABSENT: Austin
Board Member Sandra Spelman has been chosen as Vice Chairwoman .
The Board of Adjustment and Appeals new Chairwoman is Jane
Jones-Denney and Vice Chairwoman is Sandra Spelman.

MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 11, 2008 AS PRESENTED.

IN THE FORMER CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS (PARKS & RECREATION MEETING
HALL) LOCATED AT 1001 N. IDAHO ROAD .
