Monday, December 9,2024 7:00 PM City Council Chambers 1. Call to Order Acting Chair Schoenbeck called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. 2. Pledge of Allegiance Acting Chair Schoenbeck led the Pledge of Allegiance. 3. Roll Call Present 4- Chairperson Schoenbeck Vice Chair Martin Boardmember Harshman Boardmember Lanza Excused 1 - Boardmember Brechon Absent 1 - Boardmember McGraw Staff present: Rudy Esquivias, DS Director 4. Consent Agenda Board Member Martin moved to accept the agenda as presented and approve the minutes of the March 20,2024 special meeting. Board Member Lanza seconded the motion. Yes: 4- Chairperson Schoenbeck, Vice Chair Martin, Boardmember Harshman and Boardmember Lanza No: 0 Excused: 1 - Boardmember Brechon Absent: 1 - Boardmember McGraw Acting Chair Schoenbeck called for a motion. 24-942 Consideration of approval of agenda. 24-943 Consideration of approval of the minutes of the March 20, 2024 special meeting. 5. Public Hearings None. City of Apache Junction,Arizona Pagel Board of Adjustment Meeting Minutes December 9,2024 6. Old Business None. 7. New Business 24-971 Status updates of various development projects throughout the city. Director Esquivias presented the board with a handout and gave updates on the progress of various development projects throughout the city. He also highlighted recent public art initiatives, such as the completion of vinyl traffic wraps and library banners, and the upcoming installation of perforated window graphics at the MGC. Additionally, he mentioned recent rezonings and noted that 30 other projects are currently under preliminary review. Acting Chair Schoenbeck called for a motion to open the nominations for chairperson. Board Member Martin moved to open the nominations for chairperson. Board Member Lanza seconded the motion. Yes: 4-Acting Chair Schoenbeck, Board Member Lanza, Board Member Martin, Board Member Harshman No: 0 Absent: 2-Board Member Brechon, Board Member McGraw Acting Chair Schoenbeck called for nominations. Board Member Lanza nominated Acting Chair Schoenbeck for chairperson. Acting Chair Schoenbeck called for nominations three times. Acting Chair Schoenbeck called for a motion to close nominations. Board Member Martin moved to close nominations for chairperson. Board Member Harshman seconded the motion. Board Member Martin moved to approve Acting Chair Schoenbeck for chairperson. Board Member Harshman seconded the motion. Selection of Meeting Dates, Times, Location and Purpose 24-944 Regular meeting at 7.00 pm on Monday. January 13. 2025 in the city council chambers located at 300 E. Superstition Boulevard, Apache Junction. Board Member Martin moved to hold a regular meeting of the Board of Adjustment on January 13, 2025. Board Member Lanza seconded the motion.
