G. Librarian's Report
Director Harrison presented the monthly statistics for June and July and shared the"Back to
City of Apache Junction,Arizona Pagel
Library Board Special Meeting Meeting Minutes September 11,2025
School'outreach initiative prepared by Megan Carbiener.
Boardmember Perkins reported from Thailand that books provided by the library generated
interest at the school, leading to the start of a storytime program. In addition, 200 simple books
for preschool and primary students were purchased to send home with families.
Summer Reading Program statistics were reviewed.
Director Harrison highlighted recent and upcoming events:
Town Hall with Senator Ruben Gallego (August 11): Mayor Wilson opened the event and
introduced the Senator, who discussed how federal policies are impacting communities. More
than 100 people were in attendance.
Arizona@Work Partnership:The library has entered into a memorandum of understanding to
serve as an access point for job seekers. Pinal County career coaches will provide assistance
and resources on-site. A schedule of their availability will be finalized soon.
Library Website:A new website is being developed, designed to be more user-friendly,with
improved navigation and easier access to resources. The goal is to increase community use
and engagement.
Library Reading Garden:The project remains in the design phase with further adjustments
expected. Construction is anticipated to begin before the end of the year.
Library Card Sign-Up Month: Patrons may exchange their current library cards for the new Pinal
County card free of charge.
Service Awards: Staff were recognized for their service milestones, including Penny
Brumbaugh (5 years) and Megan Sparks(20 years).

1. 25-393 Presentation and discussion on the 2025-2028 Library Strategic Plan.
Director Harrison reviewed the new strategic plan for fiscal year 2026-2028.
