Mayor Wendell Clark

Apache Junction, AZ 85220
Dear Mayor Clark:
Congratulations! '
Your city of Apache Junction has been chosen to receive a Pedestrian
Safety Citation. This award is given to those cities who reported no
pedestrian traffic fatalities during the previous year (1983) .
As you are probably aware, pedestrian accidents are a serious problem for
many cities, and we applaude you for the efforts you have made in safety
education, legislation and enforcement to insure a safe environment for
the people of your city.
Since Apache Junction chose to participate in AAA's Pedestrian Protection
program, we will be providing you with a package of pedestrian safety
materials, as well as a follow-up report on the program in the near
future.
► Once again, congratulations on your award. We appreciate your interest in
the 1983/1984 Pedestrian Protection Program, and look forward to your
continued participation next year.
Sincerely,
ARIZONA AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION
