As indicated by the chart, any increase in the renewal fee would mean a considerable increase in revenue for the city while still being a relatively small additional cost to the business. This chart does not take into consideration any proposed application fee which would only apply to those new businesses and any transfers of ownership or location. kmc 1001 NORTH IDAHO • APACHE JUNCTION ARIZONA 85220 0190 • TELEPHONE(602)982 8002 Adak Almik 7 Pr.C,'f JG o c `1RIZONP ity Orb" 'Juc e ut dcfion August 1 , 1984 (r: MEMORANDUM TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL THROUGH: CITY MANAGER 2 ..'' ;y FROM: CITY CLERKJ0 SUBJECT: PROPOSED ORDINANCE NO. 307---AMENDING THE CITY CODE PERTAINING TO LIQUOR LICENSE FEES Proposed Ordinance No. 307 has been drafted in accordance with a request to amend the liquor license fee schedule. The ordinance, as written, proposes to make two changes in this particular fee schedule: A. Establishes a non-refundable liquor license application fee of $50.00 which shall be paid prior to the City Council hearing on the license. This fee will help offset the administrative costs involved in processing such an application. At present, there is no such application fee charged by the city. B. Amends the renewal fees for liquor licenses based on the nature of the business. At present, the annual renewal fee is $35.00. This ordinance proposes to charge an annual renewal fee of 25% of the initial fee plus the usual $35.00 license fee. The initial license fees will remain as they have been. These changes have been recommended by Vice Mayor Eidson and will appear on the August 7th council agenda with the emergency clause. Please contact either Vice Mayor Eidson or myself if you have any questions regarding these proposed amendments.
