Must be at least 18 years old 2. Must be a qualified elector of the City of Apache Junction 3. Must have resided within the city limits for at least one year or Must have resided in an area annexed to the city for at least one year prior to the annexation 4. George ' s Parish , I work with various organizations , prominent members of the community and the public as a whole , which includes people from all economic levels and a cross section of our population I am on the Apache Junction Youth Advisory Board , on the Apache Junction Gerontology Board , Senior Regent of the Women of the Moose , attend Chamber of Commerce meetings Being a Council member requires availability , professionalison , ability to communicate well and interact with the community, willingness to listen abjectively and learn . MAYOR AND COUNCIL Please accept this letter as my intent to seek the nomination and appointment to the vacated seat of the City Council presently existing. My continued interest and experience in city government and community affairs compels me to seek this office. As one must be willing to donate much of their personal time and energy, I fully understand the complications and inconveniences that will occur, and also the spent time contributions to help make our city a better and great place in which to live. I have no desire to deal in real estate, but I do understand the wants and needs of our community and the real estate industry. Having firm belief that common sense decisions can be made on my part that both,serves the community and the real estate industry in a compromising manner. Having been chairman of our Planning and Zoning Commision is extremly helpful in this area. Over twenty five years of construction,structural and civil engineering experience allows me to deal with city codes,roads,traffic,water and sewage utilities,and other major necessitys and problems of our city. Having served six years as a commisioned aux. deputy sheriff in which I was a lieutenant and training officer with full arresting and holding rights, gives me at least some knowledge of the wants and needs of our Dept. of Public Safety and how they should deal with the community. Some very important things to point out is my ability to get along with other people,to have the common sense to know when change is not necessary. To have the common sense to know when you don't know. All the knowledge in the world is useless, unless you know how to implement it. I feel the simple knowledge that I have, I also know how to use. I can and will use it along with the vast knowledge of, and in unison with all other members of the City Council.
