The recommended form for the call of election is a council-adopted resolution. The call of election must contain certain information per- tinent to the election such as the date of the election , offices to be filled, voter registration closing dates , opening and closing dates for the filing of the nomination papers , and the location at which nomination papers are to be filed. Resolution No. 86-43 meets these requirements . I am requesting that the Council consider this resolution atthe November 24th special meeting so that we can avoid any publication delays that may result from the upcoming holidays . RESOLUTION NO. 86-43 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA, DESIGNATING THE ELECTION DATE AND PURPOSE OF ELECTION, DESIGNATING THE DEADLINE FOR VOTER REGISTRATION; AND DESIGNATING THE PLACE AND THE LAST DATE FOR CANDIDATES TO FILE NOMINATION PAPERS BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I DESIGNATION OF ELECTION DATE, PURPOSE That March 17, 1987, has been set as the time for holding the Primary Election in the City of Apache Junction, Arizona, for the purpose of nominating candidates for Mayor and City Council whose names shall appear on the ballot at the General Election to be held on May 19, 1987 Any candidates receiving a majority of all the votes cast at the Primary Election will be declared elected without running at the General Election. SECTION II DESIGNATING DEADLINE FOR VOTER REGISTRATION Maricopa and Pinal County registration and voting lists will be used for the municipal election In order to be qualified to vote you must be registered by January 26, 1987. SECTION III DESIGNATING DATE AND PLACE TO FILE CANDIDATE NOMINATION FORM Candidates seeking municipal office may obtain nomination paper and other materials which must be filed by candidates at the City Clerk's Office, beginning December 2, 1986. Candidates must file nomination papers and other nomination forms by 5 00 p m on January 2, 1987, at the City Clerk's Office in order for their names to appear on the Primary Election ballot. Box 2122 Apache Junction, Arizona 85220 2. ) CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA 1001 North Idaho Road Apache Junction, Arizona 85219 CONSIDERATION: In consideration of the sum of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25, 000. 00) to be paid by the City of Apache Junction, Pinal County, Arizona, a municipal corporation, hereinafter referred to as "City" , to the Gerontology Research Foundation, Inc . , an Arizona non-profit corporation, hereinafter referred to as "Gerontology" , Gerontology agrees to provide the following services : To provide full health screening services and testing to interested persons fifty-five (55) years and older who reside within the City of Apache Junction, Arizona, under the following terms and conditions : (a) Gerontology shall establish objectives and criteria which will be used to evaluate the performance of this Contract. These objectives and criteria shall be approved by the Apache Junction Area Community Foundation, Inc. (Community Foundation) which shall monitor and evaluate Gerontology' s goals, objectives, services and functions. (b) Based upon an evaluation to be conducted by the Community Foundation, recommendations shall be made by the Community Foundation for installment payments to Gerontology through the Community Foundation. Said installment payments shall be in the following installments : 1. First installment: Eight thousand dollars ($8, 000 . 00) . 2 . Second installment: Five thousand six hundred sixty-six dollars and sixty-six cents ($5, 666 . 66) . 3 . Third installment: Five thousand six hundred sixty-six dollars and sixty-six cents ($5, 666. 66) . 4. Fourth installment: Five thousand six hundred sixty-six dollars and sixty-six cents ($5, 666 . 66) . (c) From time to time, Gerontology and the Community Foundation may review the objectives and criteria of Gerontology and provide for an amendment or modification to Gerontology' s goals, objectives, services, and methods . However, any modification shall not modify the stated purpose of this Contract as contained herein. (d) Gerontology specifically understands that all requests for installment payments shall be made through the Community Foundation which shall make recommendation to the City as to the payment of any installment provided for by subparagraph (b) herein, and that all payments for services performed shall be made through the Community Foundation. (e) Gerontology, by the signature of its undersigned officer, acknowledges receipt of the sum of eight thousand dollars ($8, 000 .00) which represents payment of the first installment referred to in subparagraph (b) l herein.
