AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF -APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA,ADOPTING A STREET NAME MAP;REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA,THAT:
SECTION I .IN GENERAL
1.The street names as appear on the map "Official Street Naming
Map of Apache Junction,Arizona",shall become the official
street names for public streets within the City of Apache
Junction,Arizona.
2.When there is a change in part or all of a street name,
property owners shall be given twelve (12)months from
the effective date of change to correct their mailing
address.
3.Any future requests for street names shall first be reviewed
by the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Apache
Junction,Arizona,and the Apache Junction,Arizona,United
States Post Office,and submitted to the City Council for
their consideration.
4.The Zoning Administrator is hereby directed to maintain an
address map,and to assign addresses to various parcels of
land within the City according to established Departmental
criteria.
SECTION II.REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of
this Ordinance or any part of the Code adopted herein by reference,are
hereby repealed.
SECTION III.PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY
I f any section,sub -section,sentence,clause,phrase or portion of this
Ordinance or any part of the Code adopted herein by reference is,for any
reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court
of competent jurisdiction,such decision shall not affect the validity
of the remaining portions thereof.
SECTION IV.EMERGENCY CLAUSE
WHEREAS,i t is necessary for the preservation of peace,health and safety
of the City of Apache Junction,Arizona,an emergency is declared to
exist,and this Ordinance shall become immediately operative and in force
from and after the date of posting hereof.
