HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD02ORDINANCE NO.2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF APACHE JUNCTION, PINAL COUNTY, ARIZONA, PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF WARRANTS PURSUANT TO A. R. S. SECTION 42-313. WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of A. R. S. Section 42-313, the Town of Apache Junction is authorized to provide for the issuance of warrants in payment of necessary expenses, with the warrants to be redeemed when the funds become available in the next fiscal year. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN OF APACHE JUNCTION, PINAL COUNTY, ARIZONA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1:That whenever the Town of Apache Junction is indebted upon an account, upon approval for payment of such indebtedness by the Common Council of the Town of Apache Junction by motion noted in the minutes of a regular or special meeting, the Mayor and Town Clerk are authorized to issue warrants upon the Town Treasurer for the amount due.Not more than one warrant shall be drawn for the amount allowed.The warrant shall be drawn in favor of the person to whom it is due, and the warrant shall be substantially in the following form: TOWN OF APACHE JUNCTION WARRANT (date) No. The Treasurer of the Town of Apache Junction, Pinal County, Arizona, will pay to the order of DOLLARS. This warrant is issued in payment of demand for payment No.as allowed by the Common Council of the Town of Apache Junction, Pinal County, Arizona, on the day of , 19 , and will bear interest at the rate of 6% per annum from the date hereof until paid. Countersigned: ' Mayor Presented for payment this day of 19_, and not paid for want of funds. City Treasurer PAYABLE THROUGH THE COPPERSTATE BANK OF ARIZONA, Apache Junction, Arizona The Payee, in endorsing this warrant, acknowledges full settlement of the account as shown.
