HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD13ORDINANCE NO.13 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA, AMENDING SECTION 11-1-2, RELATING TO MEMBERSHIP OF THE APACHE JUNCTION PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL AS FOLLOWS: A. B. The Planning and Zoning Commission shall be composed of a total of seven members who shall be residents of the City.The members of the Commission shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to the approval of the Council.These appointments shall be for a period of three years,unless sooner removed by the Mayor with the approval of the Council, either with or without cause.The terms of the members shall be so that the terms of no more than three members shall expire in any one year.The initial appointments shall be for two members with terms beginning on July 1, 1979, and expiring on Jiine.30, 1980; for two members with terms beginning on July 1, 1979, and expiring on June 30, 1981 and three members with terms beginning on July 1, 1979, and expiring on June 30, 1982.Thereafter, all members shall be appointed for full three year terms, except that in the event of death or resignation of a member the vacancy may be filled for the unexpired term.The term of all members shall extend until their successors are qualified; except that three successive unexcused or unexplained absences from any regular or special meeting shall be grounds for termination at the will and pleasure of the appointing officer without the necessity of a hearing or notice and such action shall be final. All members shall serve without pay.Members of the Commission may be reimbursed for actual expenses incurred in connection with their duties upon authorization or ratification by the Commission and approval of such expenditures by the Council.
