AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA,
AMENDING SECTION 11-1-2 OF THE CITY CODE, RELATING TO
MEMBERSHIP OF THE APACHE JUNCTION PLANNING AND ZONING
COMMISSION: REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS:
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY: AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL THAT:
SECTION I -IN GENERAL
That Chapter 11 of the Apache Junction City Code,
Section 11-1-2 "Membership", be amended by changing the
first sentence to read as follows:
"The Planning and Zoning Commission shall be composed
of a total of nine members who shall be residents
of the City."
SECTION II -REPEAL OF CONFLICTING PROVISIONS
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
with the provisions of this ordinance or any part of the
code adopted herein by reference, are hereby repealed.
SECTION III - SEVERABILITY
If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase
or portion of this ordinance or any part of the code adopted
herein by reference, is for any reason held to be invalid or
unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent
jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity
of the remaining portions thereof.
SECTION IV -EMERGENCY CLAUSE
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the preservation of the
peace, health and safety of the City of Apache Junction,
Arizona, an emergency is declared to exist, and this ordin-
ance shall become immediately operative and in force from
and after the date of posting hereof.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Common Council
of the City of Apache Junction, Arizona, this //''-5'day

vote of at least three -fourths of all the members elected
to the Common Council of the City of Apache Junction,
Arizona.
