AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF THE CITY CODE BY ADDING SECTIONS 2-2-7,
ADDRESSING THE COUNCIL:2-2-8,DISRUPTION OF MEETING:AND 2-2-9 PENALTY;
PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I
That Section 2-2-7,Addressing the Council,read as follows:
The public in accord with other provisions of this code shall have the right
to petition Council at the Call to the Public,the time for which to be pre-
cribed by Council,but otherwise any person wishing to address any regular
or special meeting of the Council shall obtain consent of the Mayor or consent
of a majority of the Council members present.
SECTION I I
That Section 2-2-8,Disruption of Meeting,read as follows:
I t shall be unlawful to disturb or interrupt any regular or special meeting
of the City Council;any person violating this section,in addition to being
punishable as follows,shall be summarily ejected from said meeting.
SECTION III
That Section 2-2-9,Penalty,read as follows:
Any person violating any provision of this article shall be fined not more
than $50.00.
SECTION IV
All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict with the provisions of
this Ordinance or any part of the Code adopted herein by reference are hereby
repealed.
SECTION V
I f any section,sub -section,sentence,clause,phrase,or portion of this
Ordinance or any part of the Code adopted herein by reference is,for any
reason,held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any Court
of compentent jurisdiction,such decision shall not affect the validity of
the remaining portions thereof.
