AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO.84,ESTABLISHING A HEALTH COMMISSION,
SECTION 2-10-2 MEMBERSHIP AND TERMS OF OFFICE,PRO-
VIDING FOR REPEAL OF ANY CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION THAT:
SECTION I IN GENERAL
Section 2-10-2 MEMBERSHIP AND TERMS OF OFFICE
Paragraph B be amended to read as follows:
B.The appointments shall be for three (3)years each with
the terms of members so staggered that the term of office of no appoint-
ments of members shall be for two (2)members with terms beginning upon
their appointment and expiring one year from that date,three (3)members
with terms beginning upon their appointment and expiring two (2)years from
that date,two (2)members with terms beginning upon their appointment
and expiring three (3)years from that date of appointment.Thereafter,
they shall all serve for a term of three (3)years or until their successors
are duly appointed and qualified.Honorary members shall serve for a term
not to exceed one (1)year.
SECTION I I REPEAL OF CONFLICTING ORDINANCES
All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict with the
provisions of this Ordinance or any part of the Code adopted herein by
reference are hereby repealed.
SECTION III SEVERABILITY
I f any section,subsection,sentence,clause,phrase,or portion
of this Ordinance or any part of the code adopted herein by reference,is
for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of
any court of competent jurisdiction,such decision shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portions thereof.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and City Council this
day of October ,1981.
