August 20, 1979
A special work session of the Apache Junction City Council was held at the City
Hall August 20, 1979 pursuant to notice as required by law.
The special work session was called to order by Mayor Virginia Seeman at 7:15 P.M.
Council Members present:
Mayor Virginia Seeman, Vice -mayor John Granillo, Jerry Burgess, Thomas Damiano,
Jimmy Eidson, Norman Hill and Marie Shanks.
Staff present:
Mike Curtis, City Attorney; Isabel C. Ballard, City Clerk
Work Session:
The City Council reviewed the legal opinion given to them by the City Attorney,
Mike Curtis on the Moratorium.Mike Curtis reported that we are requesting that
the State Health Department test water throughout the area, and the adequacy of
the construction.
Mike Curtis also will make a copy of the transcript and use it as a petition
use request to put the water into a receivership or possibly the City can buy
the water Company with bonds.
Isabel C. Ballard, City Clerk, suggested to look into a Four Corners Grant on a
study on the water company.The City Council discussed the alternatives at
great lengths.
