AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,AMENDING THE APACHE JUNCTION
CITY CODE,CHAPTER 2 MAYOR AND COUNCIL,ARTICLE 2-8 PARKS
AND RECREATION COMMISSION AND ARTICLE 2-12 PERSONNEL BOARD,
PERTAINING TO EXPIRATION OF TERMS;REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING
PROVISIONS;AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I IN GENERAL
That the Apache Junction City Code,Chapter 2 MAYOR AND COUNCIL,
Article 2-8 PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION and Article 2-12 PERSONNEL BOARD,
be amended to read as follows:
ARTICLE 2-8 PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION
Section 2-8-2 Membership and Terms of Office
A.No Changes.
B.The initial appointments of members shall be as follows:
three members with terms beginning upon their appointment
and expiring April 1,1981;three members with terms
•beginning upon their appointment and expiring April 1,
1982;and three members with terms beginning upon their
appointment and expiring April 1,1983.Thereafter,
commission members shall all serve for a term of three
years or until their successors are duly appointed and
qualified.Terms of members shall be so staggered that
the terms of no more than three members shall expire in
any one year and,in accordance with Ordinance No.420,
all such terms shall expire on June 30 of the applicable
year.

ARTICLE 2-12 PERSONNEL BOARD
Section 2-12-2 Membership and Terms of Office
A.No Changes.
B.The initial appointments of members shall be as follows:
1.Two members with terms beginning upon their appointment
and expiring one year from date of appointment.
2.Three members with terms to expire two years from their
appointment.Thereafter,board members will serve for
staggered terms of three years or until their successors
are duly appointed and qualified and,in accordance with
Ordinance No.420.all such terms shall expire on June 30
of the applicable year.

SECTION I I REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the pro-
visions of this ordinance or any part of the code adopted herein by reference
are hereby repealed.
SECTION III PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY
I f any section,subsection,sentence,clause,phrase or portion
of this ordinance or any part of the code adopted herein by reference is,
for any reason,held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of
any court of competent jurisdiction,such decision shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portions thereof.
