AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,AMENDING THE APACHE JUNCTION
CITY CODE,CHAPTER 2 MAYOR AND COUNCIL,ARTICLE 2-1
COUNCIL,BY ADDING SECTION 2-1-8 SALARIES;REPEALING
ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS;AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I IN GENERAL
That the Apache Junction City Code,Chapter 2 MAYOR AND COUNCIL,
Article 2-1 COUNCIL,be amended by adding Section 2-1-8 SALARIES,to read
as follows:
Section 2-1-8 Salaries
Effective July 1,1987,for the four councilmember positions
with terms of office expiring in 1987,the salary for the
position of Mayor shall be $400.00 per month and the salary
for the position of Councilman shall be $200.00 per month.
Effective July 1,1989,for the three councilmember positions
with terms of office expiring in 1989,the salary for the
position of Mayor shall be $400.00 per month and the salary
for the position of Councilman shall be $200.00 per month.
Thereafter,until further amended by council action,the
salary for the position of Mayor shall be $400.00 per month
and the salary for the position of Councilmember shall be
$200.00 per month.
SECTION I I REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of
this ordinance or any part of the code adopted herein by reference are
hereby repealed.
SECTION III PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY
I f any section,subsection,sentence,phrase,clause or portion of this
ordinance or any part of the code adopted herein by reference is,for any
reason,held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court
of competent jurisdiction,such decision shall not affect the validity of
the remaining portions thereof.
