SPECIAL MEETING
JUNE 5, 2006
The special meeting of the City Council of the City of
Apache Junction, Arizona, was held on June 5, 2006, at the
Apache Junction City Council Chambers pursuant to the notice
required by law.
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Coleman called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

DISCUSSION ON TENTATIVE BUDGET FOR
FISCAL YEAR 2006-2007/PUBLIC
HEARING ON TENTATIVE BUDGET FOR
FISCAL YEAR 2006-2007
)City Manager George
Hoffman briefed the council on the item.He stated there have
been 3 changes since the last time they saw the budget.They
had talked about bringing the administrative assistant on board
in February for economic development; Ken and Amy thought it was
great but would have liked the person there sooner if possible,
so he moved the timeline to have the position start on September
5.Secondly, it appears they will receive the $118,000 for the
Community Development Block Grant so he backed that out.
Lastly, there is a Central Arizona Association of Governments
regional planning effort that will probably be in the $60,000
range.He added that in under nondepartmental.
Councilmember Severs asked
where that money puts them now that will been added back.
City Manager George Hoffman
stated it would put them ahead by about $18,000 in the general
fund line and they will be ahead by about $150,000 plus in the
one-time sales tax line.It would roll over for next year.
Councilmember Dietz asked if
all the additions have been included.(No verbal response was
given.
Mayor Coleman opened the
public hearing on the item.There being no one wishing to
speak, he closed the public hearing and moved on to the next
item.

motion.
Councilmember Waldron MOVED
THAT RESOLUTION NO. 06-24, A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA, FOR THE
ADOPTION OF THE TENTATIVE BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION, ARIZONA, FOR FISCAL YEAR 2006-2007, HEREWITH SETTING
FORTH THE TENTATIVE ESTIMATES FOR THE MONIES NECESSARY FOR THE
PUBLIC EXPENSES OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA, FOR THE
FISCAL YEAR 2006-2007 AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE TIME AND PLACE
FOR HEARING TAXPAYERS FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE FINAL BUDGET, BE
APPROVED.
I FURTHER MOVE THAT THE PUBLIC HEARING FOR FINAL BUDGET ADOPTION
BE HELD ON JUNE 19, 2006, BEGINNING AT 7:00 P.M. IN THE CITY
COUNCIL CHAMBERS; BE APPROVED.
Councilmember Dietz SECONDED
THE MOTION.
VOTE:Unanimous.
The motion carried.
