SPECIAL MEETING
JUNE 15,2004
The special meeting of the City Council of the City of Apache Junction,
Arizona,was held on June 15,2004,at the Apache Junction City Council
Chambers pursuant to the notice required by law.
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Coleman called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

tentative budget was approved.
Mayor Coleman opened the item to
council discussion.There being no discussion,he closed the item.
PUBLIC HEARING ON FINAL BUDGET FOR
FISCAL YEAR, 2004-2005
)Mayor Coleman opened the public
hearing on the item:There being no one wishing to speak,he closed the
public hearing and moved on to the next item.
PROPOSED -RESOLUTION ,NO.04-10,. ADOPTION OF
FINAL BUDGET FORFISCAL.YEAR -2004-:2005
ANMECLARING -A4 EMERGENCY
)MayorColeman,opened the itemto -
council discussion.He:commentedthis is the first time sincete has been on
thecouncil that, they have adopted the:budget prior -tostheibeginning:of the,
fiscal year.
Finance Director Keith Lewis stated .
that is correct.
City Clerk Kathleen Connelly stated
thelast -time it was doptedTrior to the beginning of the:fiscal year was in
1981.
Mayor Coleman commended .staff,
especially Keith Lewis,for putting:the-budget together.He clbsed the •
discussion and called for a motion -..

RESOLUTION NO 04-10,A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA-,FULLY-ADOPTINGESTIMATES -OF EXPENDITURES 'BY -THE;
CITY'OF APACHE JUNCTION FOR THE FISCAL .YEAFUBEGINNING,JULY 1,2004,AND:
ENDING JUNE 30 2005 DECLARING ESTABLISHMENT OF THE BUDGET FOR THECITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION'FOR!FISCAL YEAR:2004-20-05:AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

MOTION.
VOTE:Unanimous.
The motion carried.
PROPOSED RESOLUTION NO.04-11,DECLARING
AS A PUBLIC RECORD AND ADOPTING THOSE
CERTAIN DOCUMENTS ENTITLED "THE
CLASSIFICATION PLAN FOR FISCAL YEAR 2004-
2005"AND "THE COMPENSATION SCHEDULE FOR
FISCAL. YEAR 2004-2005";AND -DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY
)Mayor Coleman asked if the
-facilities manager position needed to be added in the motion-.
City Clerk Kathleen:Connelly stated
it does.
Mayor Coleman opened .the item to
council discussion.There being no discussion,he called_for a motion.
Councilmember Waldron MOVED THAT
RESOLUTION NO.04-11,A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,DECLARING AS A PUBLIC RECORD AND ADOPTING
CERTAIN DOCUMENTS FILED WITH=THE CITY CLERK ENTITLED "THE -CLASSIFICATION PLAN
FOR FISCAL YEAR 2004-2005"AND ."THE COMPENSATION AND CLASSIFICATION SCHEDULE
FOR FISCAL YEAR 2004-2005".;AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY,BE APPROVED WITH THE
ADDITION OF THE POSITION ENTITLED "FACILITIES MANAGER"AND ITS CORRESPONDING
COMPENSATION.
Councilmember Dietz SECONDED THE
MOTION.
VOTE:Unanimous.
The motion carried.
