SPECIAL MEETING
AUGUST 1,2000
The special meeting of the City Council of the City of Apache Junction,
Arizona,was held on August 1,2000 at the Apache Junction City Council
Chambers pursuant to the notice required by law.
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Coleman called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

DISCUSSION ON FINAL BUDGET FOR FISCAL
YEAR 2000-2001
)Mayor Coleman opened the item to
council discussion.
Vice Mayor Surra asked if they would
be able to take the council dollars per person even though they are not
stipulated as such in the budget.

Finance Director Keith Lewis stated
they could as long as the city clerk keeps track of it.
Vice Mayor Surra asked if it would
have to be set out that way in this budget.
Finance Director Keith Lewis stated
it does not have to:he looks at the bottom line.
City Attorney Joel Stern commented
it could be done administratively.
Mayor Coleman thanked staff for
putting the budget together.There being no further discussion by the
council,he closed the item.
PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED FINAL BUDGET
FOR FISCAL YEAR 2000-2001 } Mayor Coleman opened the public
hearing on the item.There being no one wishing to speak,he closed the
public hearing and moved on to the next item.
CONSIDERATION OF PROPOSED RESOLUTION NO.
00-24,ADOPTION OF FINAL BUDGET FOR FISCAL
YEAR 2000-2001 AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY )
)Mayor Coleman opened the item.
Councilmember Urich MOVED THAT
RESOLUTION NO.00-24,A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,FULLY ADOPTING ESTIMATES OF EXPENDITURES BY THE
CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1,2000,AND ENDING
JUNE 30,2001,DECLARING THAT SUCH SHALL ESTABLISH THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION FOR FISCAL YEAR 2000-2001,AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY,BE
APPROVED.
Councilmember Dietz SECONDED THE
MOTION.
VOTE:Unanimous.

The motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT
)Mayor Coleman adjourned the
meeting at 6:08 p.m.
