JULY 15,1996
meeting of the City Council of the City of Apache Junction,
on July 15,1996 at the Apache Junction City Council
to the notice required by law.
Mayor Coleman called the meeting to order at 7:08 p.m.

CONSIDERATION OF PROPOSED RESOLUTION NO.
96-22,ADOPTION OF TENTATIVE BUDGET FOR
FISCAL YEAR 1996-97

Mayor Coleman opened the public
Mr.Tim Jayne,6339 E.Preston in
Mesa,representating the Apache Junction Chamber of Commerce,addressed the
council.He briefed the council on the work the chamber has done to promote

the city and where they have received their funds in the recent past.He
commented the relationship between the city and the business community has
been a strong working relationship and the chamber looks forward to continuing
the relationship.
Mrs.Rayna Barela of the Apache
Junction Main Street Program briefed the council on the packet she gave the
councilmembers and the grants received by their program and possible future
grants.

Councilmember Barker MOVED THAT
RESOLUTION NO.96-22,A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE TENTATIVE BUDGET FOR THE
CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,FOR FISCAL YEAR 1996-97,HEREWITH SETTING
FORTH THE TENTATIVE ESTIMATES FOR THE MONIES NECESSARY FOR THE PUBLIC EXPENSES
OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1996-97 AND
GIVING NOTICE OF THE TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING TAXPAYERS FOR THE ADOPTION OF
THE FINAL BUDGET,BE APPROVED WITH THE FOLLOWING AMENDMENTS:THAT TUITION
REIMBURSEMENT BE REMOVED FROM ALL DEPARTMENTS AND PLACED IN LINE 18 OF THE
NON -DEPARTMENTAL BUDGET;THAT $100,000 BE ADDED TO LINE 48 OF NON-
DEPARTMENTAL;THAT $3,000 BE ADDED TO LINE 12 OF NON -DEPARTMENTAL;THAT THOSE
FIGURES BE SUBTRACTED FROM REVENUE OVER EXPENSES;AND THAT THE PUBLIC HEARING
FOR FINAL BUDGET ADOPTION BE HELD ON AUGUST 6,1996.
MOTION.
VOTE:Unanimous.
The motion carried.
