SPECIAL MEETING
SEPTEMBER 28,1989
The special meeting of the City Council of the City of Apache Junction,
Arizona,was held on September 28,1989,at the Apache Junction City Council
Chambers pursuant to the notice required by law.
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Bluntschly called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

PUBLIC HEARING
WASTEWATER FACILITIES OPTIONS FOR
THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION
)Acting City Manager/City Clerk
Kathleen Connelly explained that State Law overlaps when researching
requirements bond elections,but that by holding this public hearing and calling
an election tonight for January of 1990 the 120 days requirement is fulfilled.
City Attorney David Alexander
further explained that there is one Statute that requires 120 days notice prior
to an election,and one that refers to 60 days notice prior to a bond election,
but to be safe i t is better to cover both requirements.Mr.Alexander added
that the election will be formally called again between 35 to 60 days prior to
the election in order to cover the other mentioned Statute.
Mayor Bluntschly reiterated that i t
is better to cover all the bases,and this meeting is not to discuss the issue
but rather to meet all legal requirements.Mayor Bluntschly asked i f there were
any questions from the Council?

Councilman Vehon asked i f the
resolution doesn't need to have all of the details regarding the bond election
and the wastewater facilities?
City Attorney David Alexander
replied that this is just a formality of calling an election,and that there
will be another hearing with all of the specifics at the next hearing.
Mayor Bluntschly opened the hearing
to the public.There being no one wishing to address the Council,Mayor
Bluntschly closed the hearing to the public.
PROPOSED RESOLUTION NO.89-30,
DESIGNATING THE ELECTION DATE AND
PURPOSE OF ELECTION;DESIGNATING THE
DEADLINE FOR VOTER REGISTRATION;GIVING
NOTICE OF INTENT TO FORMALLY CALLA BOND
ELECTION AND DESIGNATING A DATE FOR SAID
BOND ELECTION
)Vice Mayor Damiano MOVED THAT
RESOLUTION NO.89-30,BE APPROVED AND ADOPTED.
Councilman Cox seconded the motion.
VOTE:Unanimous
The motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT
)There being no further business to
discuss,Mayor Bluntschly adjourned the meeting at 6:45 p.m.
