SPECIAL MEETING
JANUARY 10,1989
The special meeting of the City Council of the City of Apache Junction,
Arizona,was held on January 10,1989,at the Apache Junction City Council
Chambers pursuant to the notice required by law.
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Hill called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m.
ROLL CALL
Councilmen Present:Councilman Burgess
Councilman Connolly
Councilwoman Gardner
Mayor Hill
Councilman Absent:Councilman Damiano

)Councilman Connolly MOVED THAT AN
EXECUTIVE SESSION BE HELD AT 4:30 P.M.,ON JANUARY 10,1989,IN THE CITY COUNCIL
CONFERENCE ROOM.
Councilwoman Gardner seconded the
motion.
VOTE:Unanimous
The motion carried.
The meeting convened into Executive Session at 4:35 p.m.
The meeting reconvened at 4:52 p.m.
SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION AND AMERICAN GREYHOUND )
SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
JANUARY 10,1989

)City Attorney David Alexander
explained that there has been presented to the Council a signed Settlement
Agreement executed by American Greyhound Racing,with regards to certain
litigation,and suggested that i t would be in the best interest of the City to
consider approval of the Settlement Agreement.Attorney Alexander also
recommended that at a future Council meeting,the Planning Department and the
Planning and Zoning Commission be given direction to look at the particular
portion of the Zoning Ordinance pertaining to this subsequent Agreement.
Councilman Connolly MOVED THAT A
SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION AND THE AMERICAN
GREYHOUND BE APPROVED AND ACCEPTED AS PRESENTED.
Councilwoman Gardner seconded the
motion.
VOTE:Unanimous
The motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT
)There being no further business to
discuss,Mayor Hill adjourned the meeting at 4:55 p.m.
