E. PUBLIC HEARING
1. 24-278 Presentation, discussion, public hearing, and consideration of approval
of Resolution No. 24-13, adoption of tentative budget for Fiscal Year
2024-2025. This resolution adopts the tentative budget for Fiscal Year
2024-2025 and sets the date, time and location for a public hearing on
final budget adoption and declares an emergency.
Councilmember Soller moved,seconded by Councilmember Nesser that Resolution No.24-13,a
resolution of the mayor and city council of the City of Apache Junction,AZ,for the adoption of the
tentative budget for the City of Apache Junction,AZ for fiscal year 2024-2025, herewith setting
forth the tentative estimates for the monies necessary for the public expenses and giving notice
of the time and place for hearing taxpayers for the adoption of the final budget,and declaring an
emergency be approved.

Assistant City Manager Matt Busby introduced Resolution No. 24-13 and stated this presentation
had been shared 2 weeks prior at the work session. Council did not request any further
presenting.
Mayor Wilson opened the Public Hearing. Receiving no comments the Public Hearing was
closed.
2. 24-435 Presentation, discussion, public hearing, and consideration of approval
of Resolution No. 24-16, declaring as a public record and adopting
certain documents filed with the city clerk entitled "City of Apache
Junction Civilian Classification and Compensation Plan for Fiscal Year
2024-2025" and "City of Apache Junction Recruit and Sworn
Compensation Plan for Fiscal Year 2024-2025"; and declaring an
emergency.
Councilmember Cross moved,seconded by Councilmember Heck that Resolution No.24-16,a
resolution of the mayor and city council of the City of Apache Junction,AZ,declaring as a public
record and adopting certain documents filed with the city clerk entitled City of Apache Junction
Civilian Classification&Compensation Plan for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 and City of Apache Junction
Recruit and Sworn Compensation Plan for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 and declaring an emergency be
approved.

Assistant City Manager Matt Busby introduced Resolution No. 24-16. He briefed the Mayor and
Council on the purpose of this resolution and the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System
Pensions Funding Policy. He suggested both of these items could be handled under one Public
Hearing, with a separate motion for each item.
Mayor Wilson opened the Public Hearing for both items. Receiving no comments, the Public
Hearing was closed.

3. 24-425 Presentation, discussion, public hearing, and consideration of approval
of the City of Apache Junction's Public Safety Personnel Retirement
System (PSPRS) Pension Funding Policy.
Councilmember Heck moved,seconded by Councilmember Soller that the City of Apache
Junction's Public Safety Personnel Retirement System Pension Funding Policy be approved.
