AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA:ESTABLISHING LOCATIONS FOR STOP SIGNS IN THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA:REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS:PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY;AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA THAT:
SECTION I IJ'L GENERAL
Pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes Annotated §9-276.i t is in the public
interest to ensure safe,effective and efficient traffic flow along public
rights -of -way within the City of Apache Junction.Arizona.The Mayor and City
Council find that traffic control devices are necessary to further this goal.
Pursuant to Apache Junction City Code §12-2-4 and 12-2-10 (A)and (B).the City
of Apache Junction may erect and maintain stop signs to regulate traffic at
intersections.
Now,therefore be i t ordained that stop signs be established at the following
locations:
SOUTHBOUND WINCHESTER ROAD AT 29TH AVENUE
EASTBOUND 29TH AVENUE AT WINCHESTER ROAD
EASTBOUND MOCKINGBIRD STREET AT CEDAR DRIVE
WESTBOUND MOCKINGBIRD STREET AT CEDAR DRIVE
NORTHBOUND OCOTILLO DRIVE AT GREASEWOOD STREET
EASTBOUND GREASEWOOD STREET AT MAIN DRIVE
EASTBOUND CACTUS WREN STREET AT VALLEY DRIVE
WESTBOUND CACTUS WREN STREET AT GOLD DRIVE
EASTBOUND 21ST AVENUE AT VISTA ROAD
EASTBOUND 6TH AVENUE AT STARR ROAD
EASTBOUND ROOSEVELT STREET AT CACTUS ROAD
WESTBOUND ROOSEVELT STREET AT CACTUS ROAD
NORTHBOUND GRAND DRIVE AT FOOTHILL STREET
SOUTHBOUND GRAND DRIVE AT FOOTHILL STREET
NORTHBOUND MAIN DRIVE AT FOOTHILL STREET
WESTBOUND SHIPROCK STREET AT GOLD DRIVE

Furthermore,the Director of Public Works and the Director of Public Safety are
hereby empowered and directed to initiate appropriate action to install,maintain
and enforce said traffic control devices.
SECTION I I REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this
ordinances,or any part of the code adopted herein by reference,are hereby
repealed.
SECTION III PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY
I f any section,subsection,sentence,phrase,clause or portion of this
ordinance,or any part of the code adopted herein by reference,is for any reason
held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent
jurisdiction,such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions thereof.
SECTION IV DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
I t is necessary for the preservation of the peace.health and safety of the City
of Apache Junction,Arizona,that this ordinance become effective immediately.
an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be effective
immediately upon passage and adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA,THIS 19TH DAY OF OCTOBER ,1999
