AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA;ESTABLISHING LOCATIONS FOR STOP SIGNS IN THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA;REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS;PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY;AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA THAT:
SECTION I IN GENERAL
Pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes Annotated §9-276,i t is in the public
interest to ensure safe,effective and efficient traffic flow along public
rights -of -way within the City of Apache Junction,Arizona.The Mayor and City
Council find that traffic control devices are necessary to further this goal.
Pursuant to Apache Junction City Code §12-2-4 and 12-2-10 (A)and (B),the City
of Apache Junction may erect and maintain Stop signs to regulate traffic at
intersections.
Now,therefore be i t ordained that stop signs be established at the following
locations:
Northbound Apache Drive at Windsong Street
Southbound Apache Drive at Windsong Street
Southbound Monterey Drive at Windsong Street
Southbound Monterey Drive at Tepee Street
Southbound Apache Drive at Tepee Street
Northbound Apache Drive at Smoketree Street
Eastbound Shiprock Street at Plaza Drive
Southbound Thunderbird Drive at Tepee Street
Northbound Desert View Drive at Shiprock Street
Southbound Desert View Drive at Shiprock Street
Eastbound Manzanita Street at Desert View Drive
Eastbound Roundup Street at Plaza Drive
Southbound Higo Circle at 5th Avenue
Southbound Olmo Circle at 5th Avenue
Southbound Pino Circle at 5th Avenue
Southbound Picana Circle at 5th Avenue
Westbound Datil Avenue at Sierra Vista Drive

Furthermore,the Director of Public Works and the Director of Public Safety are
hereby empowered and directed to initiate appropriate action to install,maintain
and enforce said traffic control devices.

SECTION I I REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this
ordinances,or any part of the code adopted herein by reference,are hereby
repealed.
SECTION III PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY
I f any section,subsection,sentence,phrase,clause or portion of this
ordinance,or any part of the code adopted herein by reference,is for any reason
held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent
jurisdiction,such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions thereof.
SECTION IV DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
I t is necessary for the preservation of the peace,health and safety of the City
of Apache Junction.Arizona,that this ordinance become effective immediately,
an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be effective
immediately upon passage and adoption by the City Council,and is exempt from the
referendum provisions of the Constitution and the laws of the State of Arizona
as provided in A.R.S.§19-142(b).
