AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,PINAL AND MARICOPA COUNTIES,ARIZONA,
AMENDING VOLUME I OF THE APACHE JUNCTION CITY CODE, CHAPTER
4,FEES,BY AMENDING ARTICLE 4-7 PUBLIC SAFETY FEE
SCHEDULE,SECTION (M),ANIMAL CONTROL,SUBSECTION (10),
EUTHANASIA FEE;REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS; AND
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY.
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Safety has been experiencing a
heavy influx of animals requiring to be euthanized; and
WHEREAS, based on recent industry standard study conducted by
Police Department staff in late 2005, there is a need for the City to
increase its fees for euthanization and disposal service to reduce
significant City subsidation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA, as follows:
SECTION I IN GENERAL
Volume I of the Apache Junction CityCode.:,::Chapter 4, Fees, Article
4-7,Public Safety Fee :Schedule,Section (M),Animal Control,
Subsection 10,Euthanasia Fee,- is mended as follows:

SECTION II REPEALING CONFLICTING PROVISIONS
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance, or any part of the code adopted herein
by reference, are hereby repealed.
SECTION III PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY
If any section, subsection; sentence, phrase, clause or portion of
this ordinancp, or any part of the Code adopted herein by reference,
is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the
decision .of any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall
not affect the validity of the remaining portion thereof.
