HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD1286ORDINANCE NO. 1286 AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA, ESTABLISHING LOCATIONS FOR "NO PARKING" SIGNS ON PUBLIC RIGHTS -OF -WAY IN THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION; REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY. WHEREAS, pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes ("A.R.S.") § 9- 276, it is in the public interest to ensure safe, effective and efficient traffic flow along public rights -of -way within the City of Apache Junction, Arizona; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council find that traffic control devices are necessary to further this goal; and WHEREAS, pursuant to_Apache Junction City Code § 12-3-4, the • City of Apache Junction may erect signs restricting parking. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA,. that "No Parking" signs be erected at the following locations: Along the West side Cortez Road starting from the centerline on Baseline Avenue North for a distance of 2066 feet. Furthermore, pursuant 'to 'Apache Junction City Code §12-2-4(A) the Director of Public Works and the Director of Public Safety are hereby empowered and directed to initiate appropriate action to place, maintain and enforce Said traffic control devices SECTION I REPEALING CONFLICTING PROVISIONS All ordinances_ arid. parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of .this ordinance,dr'any part of the code adopted herein by reference, are hereby repealed. SECTION II PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY If any section, subsection, sentence, phrase, clause or portion of this ordinance,or any part of the Code adopted herein by reference, is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional ORDINANCE NO. 1286 PAGE 1 OF 2 by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction,such decision shall not affect the validity ofthe,remaining portion thereof.
