AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,ESTABLISHING LOCATIONS
FOR "NO PARKING" SIGNS ON IDAHO ROAD IN FRONT OF AND
ADJACENT TO FOUR PEAKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL;REPEALING
ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS;AND PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes ("A.R.S.")§
9-276,it is in the public interest to ensure safe,effective
(and efficient traffic flow along public right-of-ways within the
City of Apache Junction, Arizona; and
WHEREAS, no stopping signs are needed to correct motorists'
driving habits relating to picking up and delivery of students
at Four Peaks Elementary SChool on North Idaho Road; and
WHEREAS.,pursuant to .Apache Junction
the Police Department,with the approval'
power to place and maintain traffic signs
and
City Code § 12-2-4,
of Council,has the
as 'deemed necessary;
WHEREAS,the Mayor and City Council find that traffic
control devices are necessary at the locations listed below to
further this.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA, as follows:
SECTION I ESTABLISHING LOCATIONS OF SIGNS
1)"No Parking"signs are to be erected and curbs be
painted red in conjunction with such signage, on Idaho Road in
front of •Four Peaks Elementary School,with three signs
installed on the east side of the street approximately 605',
816', and 956' north of Tepee Street, and three signs installed
on the west side of the street approximately 77', 306', and 529'
south of Foothill Street.
2)Furthermore, pursuant to Apache Junction City Code §
12-2-4(A),the Director of Public Works and the Director of
Public Safety are hereby empowered and directed to initiate
appropriate action to install, maintain and enforce said traffic
control devices.

SECTION II REPEALING CONFLICTING PROVISIONS
All ordinances and parts of Ordinances in COdflict with the
provis ions of this ordinance,Or any part Of the code adopted
herein by reference, are hereby repealed.
SECTION III PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY'
If any section, subsection, sentence, phrase, clause or portion
of this ordinance,or any part of the Code adopted herein by
reference,is for any reason held to be invalid or
unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent
jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the
'remaining portion thereof.
