AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,MARICOPA COUNTY AND PINAL COUNTY,ARIZONA.AMENDING VOLUME
I OF THE APACHE JUNCTION CITY CODE,CHAPTER 4,FEES,BY AMENDING
ARTICLE 4-3.ANIMAL CONTROL FEE SCHEDULE;REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING
PROVISIONS;AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY.
WHEREAS.the Arizona State Veterinarian Board has notified the City of
Apache Junction Animal Control Division that it cannot administer canine 5 in 1
and feline 3 in 1 vaccinations Unless a qualified veterinarian performs, this
function;and
WHEREAS,the reassignment of this function to a qualified veterinarian who
is not a City employee will result in additional operating expenses to the Animal
Control Division:and
WHEREAS,additionally,Animal Control staff has determined that many of the
City's Animal Control fees are lower than national and local averages:and
WHEREAS,there is a need for the City to increase its customer fees for
services to cover these new costs and to remove fees that are no longer relevant.
NOW.THEREFORE.BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR. AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION.ARIZONA,as follows:
SECTION I IN GENERAL
Volume I of the Apache Junction City Code,Chapter 4,Fees.Article 4-3,Animal
Control Fee Schedule,is amended as follows:
Animal Control Fee Schedule
1.License Fees (Dogs)
i .Sterilized

2.License Fees (Pot -Bellied Pigs)
i .Sterilized

($5.00 per dog for:1)senior
citizens at least 62 years of age
or older;and 2)physically
disabled persons with proof of
disability,such as but not
limited to,a disabled parking
decal or medical card in.the name
of the disabled person.)

3.Impound Fee for dogs at large $40.00 per animal,per event
$20.00 additional per each
subsequent impound
4.Microchipping Fees $25.00 per at -large dog

5.Board Fee (feeding,cleaning

6.Dog Kennel Permit Fees

All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this
ordinance,or any part of the code adopted herein by reference,are hereby
repealed.
SECTION III PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY
I f any section,subsection,sentence,phrase,clause or portion of this
ordinance,or any part of the Code adopted herein by reference,is for any reason
held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent
jurisdiction,such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portion thereof.
