AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,ESTABLISHING LOCATIONS
FOR "NO U-TURN"SIGNS .ON IRONWOOD DRIVE SOUTH OF
SOUTHERN AVENUE IN FRONT OF/ADJACENT TO APACHE
JUNCTION HIGH SCHOOL;REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING
PROVISIONS;PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Arizona Revised. Statutes ("A.R.S,")§
9-276,it is in the public interest to ensure safe,effective
and 'efficient traffic flow along public right-of-ways within the
City of Apache Junction, Arizona; and
WHEREAS,the Mayor and City Council find that traffic .
control devices are necessary to further this goal; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Apache Junction City Code § 12-2-7(A),
the City of Apache Junction may erect signs restricting u -turns.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA as follows:
SECTION I ESTABLISHING LOCATIONS OF SIGNS
1)"No -U-Turn" signs are to be erected at the following
locations:
Ironwood Drive north of US 60 approximately 823 feet
south of the intersection of Southern Avenue and
Ironwood Drive;
Ironwood Drive north of US 60 approximately 1320 feet
south of the intersection of Southern Avenue and
Ironwood Drive;
Ironwood Drive north of US 60 approximately 1798 feet
south of the intersection of Southern Avenue and
Ironwood Drive.
2)Furthermore, pursuant to Apache Junction City Code
12-2-4(A),the Director of Public Works and the Director of
Public Safety are hereby empowered and directed to initiate
appropriate action to install, maintain and enforce said traffic
control devices.

SECTION II REPEALING CONFLICTING PROVISIONS
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in .conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance,or any part of the code adopted
herein by reference, are hereby repealed.
SECTION III PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY
If any section, subsection,sentence, phrase, clause or portion
of this ordinance,or any part of the Code adopted herein by
reference,is for any reason held to be invalid or
unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent
jurisdiction, such decision Shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portion thereof'.
SECTION IV .,DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
It is necessary for the Preservation of the peace,
safety of the City of Apache Junction,Arizona,
ordinance becomes effective Immediately, an emergency
declared to exist and 'this ordinance shall be
immediately upon passage and adoption.'
