AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,AMENDING THE APACHE JUNCTION CITY
CODE BY AMENDING CHAPTER 3 ADMINISTRATION,ARTICLE 3-10
PERSONNEL SYSTEM,PERTAINING TO RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS FOR
CITY EMPLOYEES,REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS,AND
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I IN GENERAL
That the Apache Junction City Code,Chapter 3,ADMINISTRATION,Article
3-10 PERSONNEL SYSTEM,PERSONNEL POLICIES CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,and POLICE
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES,CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION pertaining to residency
requirements for City employees be amended to read as follows:
A.Personnel Policies,City of Apache Junction
RULE III.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Section 4 Residence Requirement
All permanent,supervisory employees shall be reqired to live
within a 25 minute response time from their residence to their
workplace.Any permanent,supervisory employee residing outside
the corporate limits of the City of Apache Junction shall not have
the use of a City vehicle for other than regular working hours.
All employees are encouraged to establish and maintain residency
within the corporate limits of the City of Apache Junction.
B.Police Policies and Procedures,City of Apache Junction
CHAPTER 3,PERSONNEL
3-33 Residence
All certified law enforcement personnel Shall be required to live
within a 25 minute response time from their residence to their work
place.Certified law enforcement personnel who reside outside the
corporate limits of the City of Apache Junction shall not have the
use of a City vehicle for other than regular working hours.
SECTION II.REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the provi-
sions of this ordinance or any part of the Code adopted herein by reference
are hereby repealed.

SECTION III.PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY
I f any section,subsection,sentence,clause,phrase,or portion of
this ordinance or any part of the Code adopted herein by reference is,for
any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any
court of competent jurisdiction,such decision shall not affect the validity
of the remaining portions thereof.
