AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,AMENDING THE APACHE JUNCTION CITY
CODE,CHAPTER 2,MAYOR AND COUNCIL,ARTICLE 2-1 COUNCIL,
SECTION 2-1-8 SALARIES;REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS;
AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA,AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I IN GENERAL
That the Apache Junction City Code,Chapter 2 MAYOR AND COUNCIL,
Article 2-1 COUNCIL Section 2-1-8 Salaries,be amended to read as follows:
Section 2-1-8 Salaries
Effective July 1,1989,the salary for the position of mayor
shall be paid at the rate of $600.00 per month.
Effective July 1,1989,the salary for the position of vice mayor
shall be paid at the rate of $500.00 per month.
Effective July 1,1989,the salary for the three council positions
with terms of office expiring in 1989,shall be paid at the rate
of $400.00 per month.
Effective July 1,1991,the salary for the three council positions
with terms of office expiring in 1991,shall be paid at the rate
of $400.00 per month.Until such time,the salary for the three
council positions with terms of office expiring in 1991,shall
remain at the rate of $200.00 per month.
SECTION I I REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS
All ordinance and parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of
this ordinance or any part of the code adopted herein by reference are
hereby repealed.
SECTION III PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY
I f any section,subsection,sentence,phrase,clause or portion of this
ordinance or any part of the code adopted herein by reference is,for any
reason,held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court
of competent jurisdiction,such decision shall not affect the validity of
the remaining portions thereof.
