AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA;REPEALING THE DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN LOCATIONS FOR STOP SIGNS
TOGETHER WITH ESTABLISHING LOCATIONS FOR NEW STOP SIGNS WITHIN THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA;REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS;PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY;PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES;AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA THAT:
SECTION I IN GENERAL
I t is in the public interest to insure safe,effective and efficient traffic
flow throughout the City of Apache Junction,Arizona,and whereas significant
changes in traffic patterns have made i t necessary to repeal the warrant for a
stop sign at the following location:
Tomahawk Road Northbound at Tepee Street
Tomahawk Road Southbound at Tepee Street
Broadway Avenue Eastbound at Royal Palm Road
Furthermore,the Director of Public Works is hereby empowered and directed to
initiate appropriate action to remove said traffic control devices.
SECTION I I IN GENERAL
I t is in the public interest to insure safe,effective and efficient traffic
flow throughout the City of Apache Junction,Arizona,and whereas significant
changes in traffic patterns have made i t necessary to add a stop sign at the
following location:
Tepee Street Westbound at Tomahawk Road
Tepee Street Eastbound at Tomahawk Road
Broadway Avenue Westbound at Winchester Road
Broadway Avenue Eastbound at Winchester Road
Furthermore,the Director of Public Works is hereby empowered and directed to
initiate appropriate action to install said traffic control devices,and the
Director of Public Safety is hereby empowered to enforce said traffic control
devices.
SECTION III REPEALING CONFLICTING PROVISIONS
All ordinance and parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this
ordinance,or any part of the code adopted herein by references,are hereby
repealed.

SECTION IV PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY
I f any section,subsection,sentence,phrase,clause or portion of this
ordinance,or any part of the code adopted herein by reference,is for any
reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of
competent jurisdiction,such decision shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions thereof.
SECTION V PENALTY CLAUSE
Any person found guilty of any violation of or failure or refusal to do or
perform any act required by Chapter 12 of this code constitutes a civil traffic
violation.Civil traffic violations are subject to the provisions of Title 28,
Chapter 6,Article 20 and 21,Arizona Revised Statute,and amendments thereto.
SECTION VI EMERGENCY CLAUSE
I t is necessary for the preservation of the peace,health and safety of the
City of Apache Junction,Arizona,that this ordinance become effective
immediately,an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall
be effective immediately upon passage,adoption and removal or placement of
traffic control devices.
