AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,AMENDING THE APACHE JUNCTION CITY
CODE,CHAPTER 10 OFFENSES,BY ADDING A NEW SECTION 10-1-27
SKATEBOARDING ON SPECIFIED MUNICIPAL PROPERTY;REPEALING
ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS;AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA,AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I IN GENERAL
That the Apache Junction City Code,Chapter 10 Offenses,be amended by adding a
new Section 10-1-27 to read as follows:
Section 10-1-27 Skateboarding on Specified Municipal Property
A.For purposes of this Section,a skateboard shall be defined as a platform
mounted on wheels and propelled by human power;skateboarding shall be
defined as the use of a skateboard.
B.I t i s unlawful for any person to ride or to propel a skateboad upon specific
municipal property to include the grounds and sidewalks of the city hall
complex and the public library/community center.
Skateboarding shall only be permitted on those municipal properties where
permitted under city parks regulations.
SECTION I I REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this
ordinance or any part of the code adopted herein by reference are hereby
repealed.
SECTION III PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY
I f any section,subsection,sentence,phrase,clause or portion of this
ordinance or any part of the code adopted herein by reference is,for any
reason,held to be invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent
jurisdiction,such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions thereof.
