AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA,AMENDING THE APACHE JUNCTION.ARIZONA.ZONING ORDINANCE,BY AMENDING
SECTION 20.0103 REQUIRING THE PAVING OF DRIVEWAY,PARKING AND LOADING AREAS OF
NEW MULTIPLE -FAMILY RESIDENTIAL,COMMERCIAL,MUNICIPAL,AND INDUSTRIAL
DEVELOPMENT;REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS;AND PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA,THAT:
SECTION I IN GENERAL
Section 20.0103 (Detailed Standards)of Article 20 (Parking.Loading.and
Interior or Private Street Standards)of the Apache Junction Zoning Ordinance is
amended by adding a new paragraph to read:
16.For new multiple -family residential development,commercial development,
municipal development,and industrial development,or a major expansion of
50% or more of the floor area of such developments,all driveway,parking
and loading areas shall be constructed with materials in any combination
designed to support the anticipated vehicle loads.I f portland cement
concrete is used,i t shall be between 5 inches and 9 inches thick.I f
asphaltic concrete is used,i t shall be between 2 inches and 4 inches
thick when placed over a layer of aggregate base.Full depth asphalt
concrete shall be between 4 inches and 6 inches thick.If aggregate base
is used,i t shall be between 4 inches and 12 inches thick.Decomposed
granite may substitute for aggregate base at a 1.5:1 ratio.The exact
pavement specifications must be approved by the City Engineer.All parking
spaces shall be striped with stripes being 3 inches to 4 inches wide and
16 feet long.
SECTION I I REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this
ordinance or any part of the code adopted herein by reference are hereby
repealed.
SECTION III PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY
I f any section,sub -section,sentence,phrase,clause or portion of this
ordinance or any part of the code adopted herein by reference is for any reason
held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent
jurisdiction,such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portion thereof.
