AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA,AMENDING THE APACHE JUNCTION CITY CODE CHAPTER 7,BY
ADDING SUBSECTIONS 7-1-2(F),7-1-2(G)AND 7-1-2(H),AND ADDING
SUBSECTION 7-1-11(G);REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS;AND
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA,THAT:
SECTION I IN GENERAL
A.Section 7-1-2 of the Apache Junction City Code is hereby amended to read as
follows:
Chapter 49 appendix of the Uniform Building Code 1991 (UBC)is adopted in its
entirety with the following modification to Section 4901:
F.Patio Covers,Carports and Storage rooms in RV parks and
subdivisions may be detached or attached to the buildings,
manufactured housing or recreational vehicles as accessories to
Group M;Group R Division 3;or to a single dwelling units in
Group R Division 1 Occupancies.Patio covers shall be used only
for recreational,outdoor living purposes,and not as habitable
rooms.
Section 301(b)of the UBC,1991 edition,is modified as follows:
Add item #12:
G.Recreational vehicles and their non -habitable accessory
structures when located in a Recreational Vehicle Park which has
entered into a contract with the City of Apache Junction for
self -regulation.
Section 104(e)of the UBC 1991 edition,is modified as follows:
H.Moved Buildings and Temporary Buildings.Buildings and
structures moved into or within the jurisdiction shall comply
with the provisions of this code for new buildings or structures.
Exception:Awnings or other structures which are accessory to
park models or recreational vehicles may be moved and reassembled
to the standards in effect during initial construction,but in no
case less than 10 pounds per square feet design load.

SECTION I I REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this
ordinance or any part of the code adopted herein by reference are hereby repealed.
SECTION III PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY
If any section,sub -section,sentence,phrase,clause or portion of this ordinance
or any part of the code adopted herein by reference is for any reason held to be
invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction,
such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion thereof.
