HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD954ORDINANCE NO.954 AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA;ESTABLISHING LOCATIONS FOR STOP SIGNS IN THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA;REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS;PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA THAT: SECTION I IN GENERAL I t is in the public interest to insure safe,effective and efficient traffic flow along public rights -of -way within the City of Apache Junction,Arizona and i t has been determined that traffic control devices are necessary for the public safety.Now,therefore be i t ordained that stop signs be established at the following locations: Northbound Valley Drive at 12th Avenue Westbound 13th Avenue at Valley Drive Southbound Valley Drive at 15th Avenue Southbound Thunderbird Drive at 15th Avenue Northbound Thunderbird Drive at 15th Avenue Westbound 15th Lane at Silver Drive Southbound Silver Drive at 16th Avenue Southbound Valley Drive at 16th Avenue Northbound Valley Drive at 15th Lane Eastbound 12th Avenue at San Marcos Drive Southbound Thunderbird Drive at 15th Lane Southbound Stardust Lane at Renaissance Avenue Northbound Stardust Lane at Renaissance Avenue Southbound Saguaro Drive at Renaissance Avenue Eastbound 20th Avenue at Renaissance Avenue Southbound Mara Drive at Renaissance Avenue Eastbound Renaissance Avenue at Ironwood Drive Southbound Saguaro Drive at Ray Lane Westbound Ray Lane at Palo Verde Drive Eastbound Ray Lane at Mara Street Ordinance No.954 Page 1 of 3 Westbound 11th Avenue at Palo Verde Drive Eastbound 11th Avenue at Mara Drive Southbound Mara Drive at 12th Avenue Westbound 12th Avenue at Palo Verde Drive Eastbound 12th Avenue at Ironwood Drive Furthermore,the Director of Public Works and the Director of Public Safety are hereby empowered and directed to initiate appropriate action to install,maintain and enforce said traffic control devices. SECTION I I REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance,or any part of the code adopted herein by reference,are hereby repealed. SECTION III PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY If any section,subsection,sentence,phrase,clause or portion of this ordinance,or any part of the code adopted herein by reference,is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction,such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions thereof. SECTION IV PENALTY CLAUSE Any person found guilty of any violation of or failure or refusal to do or perform any act required by Chapter 12 of this code constitutes a civil traffic violation.Civil traffic violations are subject to the provisions of Title 28, Chapter 6,Article 20 and 21,Arizona Revised Statute,and amendments thereof.
