AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA;REPEALING THE DESIGNATION 0F CERTAIN LOCATIONS FOR STDP SIGNS
TOGETHER WITH ESTABLISHING LOCATIONS FDR NEW STOP SIGNS IN THE CITY 0F APACHE
JUNCTION,ARIZONA;REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS:PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY;AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL 0F THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION.
ARIZONA THAT:
It is in the pubiic interest to insure safe,effective and efficient traffic flow
a10ng pubiic rights-of-way within the City of Apache Junction,Arizona and whereas
significant changes in traffic patterns have made i t necessary to repeal the
warrant for a stop sign at the foiiowing iotations.
NORTHBOUND WICKIUP ROAD AT ZND AVENUE.
SOUTHBOUND WICKIUP ROAD AT ZND AVENUE.
Furthermore,the Director of Punic works is hereby empowered and directed to
initiate appropriate action to remove said traffic control devices.
It is in the pubiic interest to insure safe, effective and efficient traffic flow
along pubiic rights-of-way within the City of Apache Junction, Arizona and it has
been determined that traffic control devices are necessary for the pubiic safety.
Now, therefore be it ordained that stop signs be established at the foiiowing
iotations:
EASTBOUND 2ND AVENUE AT WICKIUP ROAD.
WESTBOUND 2ND AVENUE AT WICKIUP ROAD.
NESTBOUND 29TH AVENUE AT IDAHO ROAD.
Furthermore, the Director of Punic works and the Director of Punic Safety are
hereby empowered and directed t0 initiate appropriate action to instaii. maintain
and enforce said traffic control devices.
SECTION III REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS
AN ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this

If any section,subsection,sentence,phrase,clause or portion of this ordinance,
or any part of the code adopted herein by reference,is for any reason heed to be
invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction.
such decision shaii not affect the validity of the remaining portions thereof.
I t is necessary for the preservation of the peace,health and safety of the City
of Apache Junction,Arizona,that this ordinance become effective immediately,an
emergency is hereby deciares to exist and this ordinance shale be effective
immediately upon passage and adoption.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE
JUNCTION, ARIZONA, EXTENDING AND INCREASING THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF
THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,PINAL COUNTY, STATE OF ARIZONA,
PURSUANT To PROVISIONS OF TITLE 9, CHAPTER 4, ARTICLE 7, ARIZONA
REVISED STATUTES AND AMENDMENTS THERETO,BY ANNEXING CERTAIN
TERRITORY CONTIGUOUS To THE EXISTING CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION;ADOPTING ZONING CLASSIFICATIONS FOR ANNEXED
TERRITORY; REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY.
WHEREAS, a petition in writing, accompanied by a map or Piot of said read
property, having been filed and presented to the Mayor and Council of the City
of Apache Junction,Arizona,asking that the property more particularly
hereinafter described be annexed to the City of Apache Junction, and to extend
and increase the corporate limits of the City of Apache Junction, so as to
embrace the same; and
WHEREAS, written approva1 for said annexation having been given by the State Land
Commissioner and the Selection Board pursuant to the provisions of A.R.S §9-
471.A.l,a true copy of which is attached hereto,and
WHEREAS,the Mayor and Council of the City of Apache Junction,Arizona,are
desirous of complying with said petition and extending and increasing the
corporate limits of the City of Apache Junction to include said territory;and
WHEREAS, the said petition sets forth a true and correct description of ale the
exterior boundaries of the entire area proposed to be annexed to the City of
Apache Junction, and had attached thereto at ale times an accurate map of the
territory desired to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, no alterations increasing or reducing the territory sought to be annexed
have been made after said petition had been signed by any owner of rea] and
personal property in such territory; and

WHEREAS, the provisions of §9-471, Arizona Revised Statutes, and amendments
thereto, have been fuiiy observed; and
WHEREAS, proper and sufficient certification and proof of the foregoing facts are
now on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Apache Junction,
Arizona, together with a true and correct copy of the original petition referred
to herein,which is on foie in the office of the County Recorder.
Now, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I IN GENERAL
The following legally-described territory be,and the same hereby is,annexed to
the City of Apache Junction,and that the present corporate limits be,and the
same hereby are,extended and increased to include the following described
territory contiguous to the present City limits,to wit:
That part of Section 1, lying Southwester1y of the Southwest right-of-way Nne
of U.S. Highway 60-70-80-89; AND
The East ha1f of Section 10; AND
Section 11; AND
That part of Section 12,icing Southwesterly of the Southwest right-of-way line
of U.S. Highway 60-70-80-89;Township One South,Range Eight East of the Gina and
Salt River Base and Meridian,Pina]County,Arizona.
SECTION I I RECORDATION
That a copy of this ordinance, together with an accurate map of the territory
hereby annexed to the City of Apache Junction, Arizona, certified by the Clerk
of said City, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", be forthwith filed and recorded in
the office of the County Recorder of Pina] County, Arizona.
SECTION III ZONING CLASSIFICATIONS
Zoning classifications for the aforedescribed annexed territory are hereby
adopted as shown on Exhibit "B" attached hereto and by this reference
incorporated herein.

SECTION IV REPEALING OF CONFLICTING ORDINANCES
A11 ordinances and parts of ordinances and/or provisions of the Apache Junction
City Code which are in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby
repealed.
SECTION v PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY
If any section, subsection, sentence, phrase, clause or portion of this ordinance
is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any
court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of
the remaining portion thereof.
