A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF APACHE JUNCTION TO
AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATIONS
TRANSPORTATION ACTION PROGRAM,
WHEREAS the Arizona Department of Transportation will,
upon request by the City Council, make available to the City of
Apache Junction a service entitled "Transportation Action Program";
WHEREAS the City Council understands that the purpose
of the program is to bring transportation assistance to communities
of Arizona by direct involvement of citizens, community leaders
in the community, and outside expertise to improve traffic flow and
traffic safety in the community, that the program will support
technical assistance and encourage safe transportation, and that the
service will be provided free of charge to the City;
WHEREAS the City Council understands that in order to
participate in the program the City must contribute a meeting hall
for discussions, a bus for transportation and the services of a
local representative to act as a chairman in coordinating
activities for a one day survey of the community;
WHEREAS the City Council believes it to be in the
best interest of the City to participate in the program and that
it will support the program;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Mayor be and
she is hereby authorized and directed to execute any documents
necessary to enable the City to participate in the Arizona
Department of Transportation TAP Program, and that the City
Council shall give the program its' complete support.
PASSED AND ADDOPTED ,by the Mayor and the City
Council of the City of Apache Junction, Arizona this 2nrh
day of June , 1979.
